(May 20, 2014) Jessup, MD – After seeing the top step of the podium just a few weeks ago at Laguna Seca, the TPC Racing team is ready to take on Lime Rock Park for the Memorial Day Weekend to race in rounds five and six of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. The TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour team has been hard at work getting the 35 GT3 Cup of Michael Levitas and the 37 GT3 Cup of David Williams ready to fight for the top step of the podium once again.

The Lime Rock Park race weekend will have a shortened schedule, only being on track Friday for two practice sessions and qualifying with both races being on Saturday. With the shortened time, the team has been working hard on chassis setup in order to have a strong car right off of the trailer.

Coming off of a successful race weekend at Laguna Seca, Michael Levitas is excited to get back to Lime Rock Park. 2011 was the last time that Levitas raced at LimeRockPark and he is looking forward to being back there again in the 35 TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour entry.

“I am very excited to go back to Lime Rock”, stated Michael Levitas. “We had a great race in the Gold Class a few weeks ago at Laguna Seca and I hope to be on the top step of the podium again. The TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour team has been working hard and I think we will have a strong car at Lime Rock. Lime Rock is a tight track and not a ton of room to pass, so with that and the limited track time that we will be getting, I believe we will have a strong car to fight with. I am happy to be back in the Gold Class, and after our race at Laguna, I cannot wait to see how competitive our class will be at Lime Rock.”

David Williams has been doing great this season in the 37 TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour GT3 Cup and has been reaching each personal goal that he has made. The TPC Racing team has been hard at work with the 991 chassis and Williams will have a strong car to be competitive at Lime Rock.

“I am looking forward to being back at Lime Roc kPark”, stated David Williams. “I have not been to Lime Rock in a long time, but when I was there last for a PCA Club Race I was on pole my first time out. The TPC Racing team has been doing a great job this season with the 991 GT3 Cup and I think that we will be very competitive at Lime Rock.”

Follow along with the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the weekend for the latest updates!

(May 7, 2014) Jessup, MD – The TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour race team went into rounds three and four of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama wanting to repeat the results of 2013, winning. Michael Levitas, driver of the 35 TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour GT3 Cup and David Williams, driver of the 37 Merkle / TPC Racing / Under Armour GT3 Cup went into the weekend feeling confident and knew that the TPC Racing team would deliver strong cars to drive.

Rounds three and four of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama would make for Michael Levitas’ return to the Gold Class, piloting the teams number 35 997 model GT3 Cup. In 2013, Levitas won the Gold Class drivers and Masters drivers’ championships and looks to do the same in 2014.

“I have gotten some testing in with the TPC Racing number 35 car and felt very comfortable in it,” stated Michael Levitas. “Our TPC Racing team knows the chassis so well and I have always felt great in the 997. The 991 is fantastic, but the 997 is very satisfying for me to drive. I know that with the skill of our engineering staff, our coaches Damien Faulkner and Randy Pobst, the TPC Racing team will give me a car that I can be competitive with to fight for more wins. I came into the fight late, so in order to win the championship this year, I need to be on the podium each race weekend.”

Levitas worked hard and had a great race weekend. The team got the car sorted in practice and Michael took the 35 TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour GT3 Cup and put it on the top of the timing charts in qualifying. On the last lap, Levitas was knocked off of pole position, and only a few hundredths separated the top three qualifiers in Gold.

Michael Levitas took the green flag starting second in race one. Going into turn two, Levitas made the pass for the lead and held onto his position until the end. Toward the end of the race, there was a caution which bunched up the field. The finished ended up being a green-white-checker shootout to the finish. Michael did a fantastic job and held his position while everyone battled behind the 35 TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour machine. Levitas was able to take the checkered flag and win both the Gold and Gold Masters.

“Great race, absolutely fantastic,” stated Levitas. “The TPC Racing Porsche was outstanding. The guys did an amazing job on the setup. It was great through 3 and 4 and just killer through 9 and 10. The competition was off the charts! I had to run every lap with no mistakes. We were within a second the entire race. It was just absolute mayhem. I would work so hard to make up that one-second and boom, we’d have to restart and I would have to do it over again. I really have to thank our coach Damien Faulkner for the racing advice and calming myself down to drive such a great race. Also, a huge thanks to IMSA and all of the competitors for such an amazing race.”

David Williams was doing a fantastic job in the 37 Merkle / TPC Racing / Under Armour entry. David worked hard on his driving and was working hard for a solid finish in the Platinum class running his 2014 991 GT3 Cup. The TPC Racing team worked hard as well and delivered a great chassis that Williams was confident in to run a strong race.

“The TPC Racing team gave me a fantastic car,” stated David Williams. “The car was great and working with Damien Faulkner helped me tremendously. I was able to drive extremely well and felt great in the car.

David Williams started the race in the mix of the Gold competitors and got through the group right away. Qualifying did not go how Williams expected, so it was important to get a clean start. David did a fantastic job and had a great race, picking through the field one car after the next. It was clean racing with no mistakes. David Williams drove a fantastic race, winning the Yokohama Hard Charger award after starting 22nd and finishing 16th.

“I had a great start,” stated David Williams. “Right on the outside was wide open, and I probably made up five spots there on the start. I was running consistent after that and it was a great race. My TPC Racing / Merkle / Under Armour car was just fantastic. A huge thank you to the entire TPC Racing team.”

The TPC Racing team looks forward to the next rounds on Memorial Day weekend at LimeRockPark.

(September 3, 2013) Jessup, MD – For rounds eleven and twelve of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team took on the streets of Baltimore. Being that the event was held in the team and sponsors hometown, it was important to have a good showing.

The weekend was not a long weekend for track time since the track was a street circuit. The team was on track Friday morning and had two thirty minute practice sessions to learn the track before qualifying later in the afternoon. Practice went well for the 35, 36 and 37 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entries. Ben Keating in the Platinum Class 35 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup got up to speed very fast and was in the top five during second practice. In Gold, Michael Levitas in the 36 Porsche of Towson entry and David Williams in the 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson entry were very close in lap times. Michael was fastest in practice one and David fastest in practice two by four hundredths of a second. With these lap times, the team knew that qualifying and the race would be close and exciting.

During qualifying, Ben Keating went out in the 35 Porsche of Towson entry to put down a fast lap. Coming onto the front straight through the chicane, Keating made contact with a barrier which caused damage to the rear suspension. The damage would put Keating out for the remainder of the session, but the team would have the suspension repaired for Saturdays race. In the Gold Class, Michael Levitas got the pole position in his 36 Porsche of Towson entry, just ahead of teammate David Williams in the 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson entry.

Saturday would start race one of the weekend in front of over one hundred thousand fans lining the streets of Baltimore. At the start of the race, all three TPC Racing Porsche GT3 Cup cars had clean starts, and right away Ben Keating in the 35 Porsche of Towson entry was able to make his way through the field after starting toward the rear of the pack. Michael Levitas and David Williams in their 36 and 37 cars worked together to make their way through the field as well, even passing Platinum Class cars. There was a caution early on which brought the field closer together, and when the track went green again, Ben Keating made great passes that would get him into seventh overall. Levitas and Williams stayed first and second in class, staying out of trouble and running consistent laps. After forty five minutes of hard racing, Keating crossed the finish line in seventh overall, winning him the Yokohama Hard Charger Award and in Gold, Michael Levitas took the win with teammate David Williams taking second in their Porsche of Towson / Merkle entries.

“Winning the Yokohama Hard Charger is a nice accomplishment,” stated Ben Keating, driver of the 35 Porsche of Towson entry. “I cannot say enough about this TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team. We had an incident in qualifying and the team worked all night to rebuild the rear suspension so that we could make the race today. The team is fantastic and the car was perfect which made it easy for me to make my way through the field. It was great to race on the streets of Baltimore and especially to do it in front of the Porsche of Towson guests. I look forward to taking this great momentum forward into Texas where we will race at Circuit of the Americas next.”

“My Porsche of Towson 36 car was just amazing,” stated Michael Levitas. “It was so hooked up. It was so dialed in; the team did a fantastic job with the chassis setup. It was hot between the concrete. I had to short shift every gear but I can’t say enough about the Porsche of Towson and TPC guys. It was an honor to win here today in our home town but even more exciting to do so in front of our sponsors and supporters from Porsche of Towson. My teammate David Williams of Merkle did an amazing job. He pushed me hard. We were lap for lap.”

“It was awesome,” stated David Williams. I love the facility. I love street racing. It’s the first one I’ve ever done and I would love to do more of it. It’s great to be in my home town too. My company Merkle is located here and so is Porsche of Towson. I’ve lived here for 25 years and just these kinds of crowds and the energy and excitement is fantastic. Technical course, high speed, fantastic.”

For race two of the weekend, Michael Levitas would start on pole again with teammate David Williams right behind him. On the start, a Platinum Class car tried to split the field, hitting a car and spinning going into turn one. As this was going on, Levitas was making his way up the field, got pushed by another Platinum Class car and made contact with a spun car which broke the radiator and ended the race for the 36 entry. David Williams made it through turn one safe and clean, taking the lead and running away with it in his 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson entry. Right away, David put a gap on the second place car and ran away with it. Williams was running faster and faster each lap, turning his fastest lap and Gold Class race record lap on the second to last lap. When the checkered flag flew, David Williams crossed the line first in his 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup, taking his first ever series win.

“To get first place in my first year in my hometown is great,” Williams said. “It’s fantastic. To do it in front of a big audience with lots of hometown people here makes it even better. We had fans from Merkle and Porsche of Towson watching us and it was a fantastic win. It would not have been possible without the great support from the TPC Racing team and our driver coach Randy Pobst.”

Next on the schedule is Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for rounds thirteen and fourteen. The team goes into Texas leading the driver and team point’s championship.

(August 14, 2013) Jessup, MD – For rounds nine and ten of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama Series, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team was at Road America. This was the first time that the team had been to Road America, and all three cars were fast right out of the trailer.

In practice, the TPC Racing Porsche GT3 Cup cars were great. While Ben Keating and David Williams have been to Road America before, Michael Levitas used the test sessions and first practice to learn the course to be competitive. While learning the track, Levitas still had an impressive lap time to put him in the top three; that is when the team knew that the car was good. The team made chassis adjustments to help better the handling of the cars and the 35 car of Ben Keating, 36 of Michael Levitas and 37 of David Williams were ready for qualifying.

For qualifying, Ben Keating had a strategy that he pulled off in the 35 car. In the 36 Porsche of Towson entry, Michael Levitas drove his car to a starting position of third for the first race and set his second fastest lap time to be that of starting first for race two. David Williams was consistent with his lap times and qualified sixth in the Gold class.

At the start of the first race, the 35 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry had a great start, as Keating started moving his way up through the field and his strategy was playing out. Ben started further back in the field as he did not want to do many qualifying laps on the tires and rolled off in the twenty-second spot on the grid. Even with lengthy cautions in the beginning of the race, Keating was able to drive up to eleventh spot which earned him the Yokohama Hard Charger Award.

“The TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup was great today,” Keating said. “The team worked hard to give me a great car and once again delivered a fast car that I could drive through the field with. We had a strategy going into qualifying that worked out for me and at the start I stayed out of trouble and made my way up through the field. Thank you to TPC Racing for the great car and I look forward to Baltimore.”

The 36 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry of Michael Levitas had a great start. Michael took over the lead after a nice battle and held on. On the last lap while leading the race in turn six, Levitas got hit in the left front which caused the tire to go down and Michael finished in the fourth position but took second place in the Masters class. In race two, Levitas started on pole. It was a wet race, and Michael did not want to take chances as he was learning a wet line and also in the lead of the race. The second race was full of long cautions and Levitas finished in third but won the Masters class.

“It was a great race, a great race,” Levitas said. “The Porsche of Towson TPC car just did incredible. We made a little bit of a change before the race I thought it would give me some rear grip but it gave me a little too much, and it cost me about a half of a second a lap, and it really hurt. But what really hurt is that I had the lead up until the very last lap. But we still pulled off P3. My teammate Dave Williams–my hat goes off to him. Dave Williams did a supreme job he brought that car into second place and he was a steady guy he was strong and there at the end and that’s what matters.”

“In the second race things got a bit crazy with the rain and extended cautions, but David and I were smart and worked as a team. We survived the race and moved up in class without making a mistake. It was great to win the Masters class and have my teammate David Williams in second”

David Williams drove a fantastic race in both the first and second race of the weekend. In race one, David was setting consistent laps which had him finish in second place in Gold and Williams took the win in the Masters class with his 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson machine. In race 2, David had a great race in the rain. Williams started in sixth and worked his way up to fourth before a long caution came out. David was faster than the top three, and was looking forward to a strong run to the front but the race finished under caution. The fourth place finish would put Williams in second in the Masters class and would also see David winning the Yokohama Hard Charger Award for the second race of the weekend.

“It was very crazy,” Williams said. “But it ended up being a good race. The restarts were crazy everyone got jammed up coming up the hill and Turn-1 and Turn-3 was just nuts but ultimately great race and great venue. My TPC Racing / Merkle car was great. As always, the team gave me a great car to drive to a podium finish.”

(August 5, 2013) Jessup, MD- For rounds nine and ten of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team will be at Road America with a three car assault. The TPC Racing team has been hard at work since CanadianTireMotorsportPark and will have three Porsche GT3 Cup cars that are capable of winning.

Ben Keating will pilot the 35 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry once again in the Platinum Class after a fantastic run in Canada. In round seven, Keating won the Yokohama Hard Charger Award after starting toward the back of the field due to qualifying being cancelled. The team is thrilled to have Ben Keating back behind the wheel of the 35 car, and Road America is a track that Keating has seen success at before.

“I am really excited to be back behind the wheel of the 35 TPC Racing Porsche,” stated Ben Keating. “The team gave me a great car in Canada and I know that I will have a great car at Road America. I have won races at Road America before and think it is a great track, so I am looking forward to racing there in the 35 TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup.”

Michael Levitas in his 36 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry continues to battle teammate David Williams in the 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup for the Gold Class driver championship. Levitas continues to hold a championship lead after David Williams had to miss rounds seven and eight, but David still sits in second place going into rounds nine and ten.

“Road America is a track that I have not been to before,” stated Michael Levitas. “I have heard great things about the track and have worked on the simulator to learn the track before getting out there in my 36 Porsche of Towson car. The team has been working hard since Canada, so we should have a very strong car going into Road America and hopefully extend the points lead even more.”

David Williams sits in second place in the point’s standings in his 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup, just behind teammate Michael Levitas going into rounds nine and ten of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. Road America is a track that Willamis has been to before and also considers it to be one of his favorite tracks.

“I have been looking forward to race at Road America,” stated David Williams. “It has been a few years since I have been there, but I like how fast the track is and know that my 37 Merkle / Porsche of Towson entry will be strong there. I know TPC Racing will give me a strong car to run up front with.”

(July 23, 2013) Jessup, MD – For rounds seven and eight of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series by Yokohama, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team was at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The team went into rounds seven and eight leading the team and drivers’ championship in the Gold Class as well, first and second in the Masters Class standings.

The weekend started off well for the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team. Out of the trailer, both the 35 car of Ben Keating and 36 car of Michael Levitas were quick. The team made chassis adjustments during practice and the cars proved to handle better, making for what would be good cars in qualifying and in the race.

Just before qualifying, there was a heavy storm that came in. The TPC Racing cars were setup well and would have been good in the rain, but also good in the dry. On the out lap, cars started going off track which caused the session to be stopped so that there could be track cleanup. When the cars were released to go back out again, there was lightning as the cars were making another out lap which caused the session to be canceled. When the session was canceled, IMSA had the cars gridded based off of practice times. This would have Ben Keating start in fifteenth position in the Platinum Class and Michael Levitas start in second in the Gold Class.

When it came time to race, the track was dry and the TPC Racing team had great cars to fight to the front with. At the drop of the green flag, Levitas took off in the Gold Class and got the lead. It was a hard fight with the second and third place cars in class, but Levitas drove his 36 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup back to victory lane at CTMP.

“What a race,” stated Michael Levitas. “The second and third place cars gave me a real battle out there. I knew that I had to get a good start right away so that I could try to run away with it but they put up a good fight and we had a blast. Our TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team gave me a great car. I have to thank Porsche of Towson and everyone involved as this was a great weekend. I missed having my teammate David out there with me, but we will have fun out at Road America together.”

In Platinum, Ben Keating was driving a fantastic race in the 35 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup. Ben drove a stellar race, faster each lap and very consistent. During the race, Keating picked off six cars, finishing ninth and also setting a fast lap of what was being set at the front of the field. For making so many positions and driving a great race, Ben Keating received the Yokohama Hard Charger Award.

“TPC Racing gave me an amazing car,” stated Ben Keating. “That was a great race and I had a blast in my Porsche of Towson / Viper Exchange car out there. The competition was great and a huge thank you to the guys at TPC Racing giving me such an awesome car that I could fight with and put down great laps. I look forward to hopefully coming back out and doing it again.”

The TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team leaves CTMP still in the Gold Class points lead in the driver and team championship going into Road America in three weeks.

I know from experience that with the engineering behind TPC Racing and the driver coaching from Randy Pobst, the team will provide me with the car that I will need to fight for the win. Watkins Glen is one of the tracks where I first started road racing in the MARRS series in the 90’s and it is a track I have not raced at since 2007, so I am excited to return to The Glen which has always been my favorite track on the East Coast.”

Michael Levitas is thrilled to be back in the seat of his #36 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup car to go back to one of his favorite tracks on the east coast.

“I am very excited to get back in the seat of my Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup,” stated TPC Racing team owner and driver Michael Levitas. “Watkins Glen has always been one of my favorite tracks on the East Coast that I have had a lot of success at. It comes down to having the best chassis at a track like The Glen, and our TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team has done a lot with reviewing data and finding the right setup. I believe we will be strong there and I look to continue with our winning ways.”

David Williams is also looking forward to being back in his #37 Porsche of Towson / Merkle machine.

“When I was last out at Watkins Glen, I had a blast,” stated David Williams. “Watkins Glen is a very fast track and I look forward to being back in the seat of my TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup. The Glen is a fast track but the car setup has to be spot on in order to go fast, and I know that the TPC Racing team will give me a car to run up at the front of the field with.”

After winning the first four races of the season, Michael Levitas is the championship leader in the Gold Class as well as the Gold Masters Class. David Williams is right behind Levitas in the point’s standings, making for a battle of the teammates. This also puts the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle team on top, leading the team championship. The team hopes to continue with this success at Watkins Glen for rounds five and six June 28-30.

(June 19, 2013) Jessup, MD – For rounds five and six of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series by Yokohama, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team will field a third entry. Marc Bunting of Baltimore, Maryland will return to the TPC Racing team driving the #35 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup entry in the Platinum Class.

Marc Bunting has always been close with the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team. In 2004, Bunting won the drivers championship in the Rolex Series with TPC Racing and the team is thrilled to have Marc returning to competition.

For Marc, the Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup that he will pilot in the Platinum Class is a car that he is familiar with. Bunting has raced in the ALMS GTC Class and has had fantastic results. Marc knows what it takes to be fast, and the team knows that they have one of the best piloting the #35 Porsche of Towson Platinum entry.

“We are thrilled to have Marc Bunting driving with our TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team again,” stated TPC Racing team owner and driver Michael Levitas. “It brings back some great memories of the success we had as teammates when we ran in the Rolex Series. Marc is a fantastic driver. He is a champion, a good friend, race winner and is the perfect driver to have driving our Platinum Class entry. Marc is a great addition to our Porsche of Towson team and it will be a blast to be back on the same team again.”

“I am excited to be reunited with TPC Racing and Watkins Glen,” stated Marc Bunting. “It will be great to be back with the team and also to drive the new Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup in the Platinum Class. I won my first championship in 2004 with TPC Racing and they are a first class performance/race prep shop located in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. It’s great to be back with the home team.
The TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team currently leads the point’s championship in the Gold Class as Michael Levitas has gone four-for-four this season. This puts Levitas at the top of the driver’s standings in Gold, but following close is teammate David Williams in the #37 Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry. David has placed second in the first four rounds this season and the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team looks to bring this momentum into Watkins Glen. The TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson trio of Marc Bunting in the #35 Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup in Platinum will be strong and Levitas in his #36 entry will be looking to go six-for-six with great battles with teammate David Williams in the #37 machine in the Gold Class.

(May 13, 2013) Jessup, MD – For rounds three and four, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team dominated once again at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The team went into rounds three and four leading the team and drivers’ championship, so the goal was to continue in winning fashion and that is exactly what the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team did.

When arriving to the track for test days, Michael Levitas, driver of the #36 TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup and David Williams, driver of the #37 TPC Racing / Merkle / Porsche of Towson GT3 Cup worked hard to get their Gold Class Porsche GT3 Cup cars to be front running cars. The team worked hard with chassis setup as well as learning the track. Michael Levitas last raced at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2011 and this was the first time for David Williams at the track. With great driver coaching from team coach, Randy Pobst, and the engineering behind the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team, the #36 and #37 cars had a fantastic setup to be competitive.

Race one of the weekend was a race with tons of excitement. On the first lap, the front of the Platinum Class pack got together, causing much carnage in turn three. Michael Levitas in the #36 Porsche of Towson car timed it perfectly, just barely missing the incident as he navigated his GT3 Cup through a cloud of dust and debris. Teammate David Williams in the #37 car made it through clean as well, just a few positions behind Levitas.

Once the field went back to green flag racing, Levitas started pulling away while leading in his #36 Porsche of Towson car. When going back to green flag racing, Levitas got a brilliant start making several positions on the Platinum Class, creating a gap between him and Williams.

Later in the race, the #36 car started to get a loose car and Williams was on the move to catch Levitas. David started turning lap time .5 seconds faster than Michael and started closing the gap. Williams drove smart and hard, reeling in teammate Michael Levitas but the checkered flag flew before David could make up more time.

“It was great!,” stated Michael Levitas, driver of the 36 TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson entry. “My Porsche of Towson car was great. Our second car of David Williams did a fantastic job. It was effortless for TPC Racing today and it was just a great beginning to our weekend.”

“It was a lot of fun,” stated David Williams, driver of the 37 TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson / Merkle entry. “The track and the car were great. This is my first time here and I am still learning the track. It’s a nice rhythm track and kind of reminds me a bit of Mid-Ohio, but probably a top-five track for me!”

Race two of the weekend would see Michael Levitas once again start on pole with teammate David Williams starting beside him in second. After making a chassis adjustment the night before, Levitas was now certain that he would have a stronger car and fix the looseness that he felt the day before. Williams had a great car from race one and was excited to run down Levitas and fight for the race win.

At the start of the race, both the #36 and #37 Porsche of Towson / Merkle GT3 Cup cars had fantastic starts. Right away, Levitas in the #36 car felt the setup changes and was turning lap times faster than the day before. David was close behind, but had slower Platinum Class cars in front that he had to battle with before being able to battle with teammate Michael Levitas.

As David was running down cars that were between him and Michael, he had a short off track excursion. The track was very greasy and with ten minutes remaining, David lost a bit of ground with the off course incident. Luckily, the car was not damaged and Williams was able to continue to finish second behind teammate Michael Levitas.

“Wow, what a race,” Levitas said. “I really had fun out there. I can’t thank my Porsche of Towson team enough!! Four wins so far this season for our TPC Racing/Porsche of Towson team is just fantastic. My teammate David Williams had me pulling double duty. He really pushed me to do better. It was a long race. We had a blast. Very exciting, very fun, we had a great time.”

“Not the race I wanted at all but I survived it,” Williams said. “Much different track today, much greasier, just completely different race. But great experience I really enjoyed it, great facility, great venue and a huge thank you to the TPC Racing/Porsche of Towson/Merkle team for such a great weekend.”

With such amazing results, the TPC Racing / Porsche of Towson team will be working hard to prepare for rounds five and six at Watkins Glen in June. The team has been up to Watkins Glen in the past with race wins and looking forward to being back out and fight for a three-peat!
