The doubleheader weekend in California “Wine Country” features a pair of 40-minute sprint races, with the opener going green at 1 p.m. PDT on Saturday, April 6, and the second starting at 8:55 a.m. PDT on Sunday April 7. Both races can be seen live on the SRO YouTube channel at YouTube.com/GTWorld.

Grossberg and Farhadi are back with TPC Racing following successful runs with the team a year ago in partnership with Dream Racing that brings both of the race-winning and high-end motorsports entities together on track. Grossberg spent the final two rounds of last season’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo season, including the finale in Italy, with TPC Racing. Farhadi made his auto racing debut with TPC Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last October where he finished fourth in a Porsche Cayman in Porsche Sprint Challenge.

This year marks the first full-season effort for TPC Racing into SRO GT America and its growing GT2 class. The team, however, is well familiar with the the Lamborghini platform and even has notable GT2 experience in GT America after somewhat of a history-making entry three years ago. A TPC Racing Lamborghini driven by Scott Schmidt is credited as the first GT2-spec car to compete in GT America in 2021 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).

The familiarity and technical expertise of the Lamborghini carries over from TPC Racing’s long-standing Lamborghini Super Trofeo efforts. The GT2 version of the Lamborghini Huracán is a modified version of the same platform that TPC Racing drivers Shehan Chandrasoma and Nikko Reger used to capture the Pro-Am class victory in the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals.

Grossberg will pilot the No. 102 Dream Racing/TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 during the 2024 SRO season, while Farhadi races the No. 127 Dream Racing/TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo.

TPC Racing’s partnership with Dream Racing is an opportunity to capitalize on the strengths of both programs. Though Dream Racing has their own successful history as a race team, the organization’s growing Super Car Driving Experience in Las Vegas has shifted the focus to that expansion. TPC Racing now handles the logistics and on-track competition experience, creating the same championship-winning opportunities that have long been a feature of the Baltimore-area high-performance and race shop.

The Lamborghini Huracáns will make their season debut on Friday, April 5 at Sonoma Raceway with the opening day of practice, followed by qualifying on Saturday morning at 8:20 a.m. PDT (11:20 EDT). Both Saturday’s 1 p.m. PDT 40-minute race and Sunday’s 8:55 a.m. PDT race can be seen live at YouTube.com/GTWorld.

Aaron Farhadi is on board for Sonoma and Long Beach while we develop a plan to have Aaron continue for the remainder of the season. We have run SRO in GT2 with a Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the past and it was a great experience and even a milestone for the championship and our team as the first GT2 entry in GT America. It’s nice to see the class grow and we are looking forward to a great, competitive season.”

That was when the partnership with Harris and TPC Racing started to make sense. We saw in TPC Racing someone who brought the same values that we brought to the race track. I’m very excited about the partnership, and I think it can extend beyond what we did last year and are doing this year. We hope that we can bring something to the team as well, but we’re 100 percent confident to put our name next to TPC Racing. I’m excited to once again join the SRO championship, because they are certainly growing year after year and proving to be a great championship for new drivers to step into professional racing.”

Alan Grossberg, Driver, No. 102 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo: “It’s great to enter the season at the same time everyone begins the season, instead of coming in mid-season. I have had time during the off-season to prepare for the start of this season this year, knowing a bit more of what to expect. GT2 is a new format for me. I believe having driven unrestricted in Super Trofeo will help, but like all of the drivers had to do at some time, I’ll have to adjust to new car configuration. I’m definitely looking forward to racing the Lamborghini Super Trofeo against other makes. I’m a realist, but also a competitor. A great result would be to be on the podium. A strong finish in both races and qualifying somewhere in the top third, would be a good result this weekend.”

Chandrasoma’s and Reger’s last appearance in the famously gold-liveried Lamborghini Austin Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 saw a victory in the World Finals last November at Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy. The duo hope that momentum carries over to the 2024 season-opening doubleheader at Sebring International Raceway, the first two of 12 races on the schedule.

The first green flag of the 2024 season is Thursday evening at 5:55 p.m. EDT for a 50-minute race, followed by the second of the week at 6:05 p.m. EDT on Friday. Both races can be seen live on IMSA.tv and for subscribers of the Peacock streaming network.

TPC Racing and their pair of drivers ended the 2023 season on a high note beyond just the World Finals victory. In addition to the team’s first-ever victory in international sports car racing competition, and the maiden win for Chandrasoma and Reger with the team, the gold medal capped a run of four-consecutive podium finishes. In addition to the win, the team also placed second in the previous race at Vallelunga, in what was officially the finale for the North American championship, and had previously secured a pair of podium finishes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway stateside before heading overseas.

The late surge enabled Chandrasoma to secure third in the final Pro-Am season standings, just one point behind the runner-up.

Though the No. 21 Lamborghini Austin Lamborghini Huracan for Chandrasoma and Reger will be a single-car effort at Sebring, TPC Racing will be joined later in the year for a partial season by Christopher Tasca in the Fly Alliance Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO. Tasca will drive solo in the LB Cup class.

The 2024 opener is the first visit for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America to Sebring International Raceway since the pandemic-shuffled 2020 schedule. TPC Racing nearly swept the podium at each of those events, with Scott Schmidt and co-driver Trevor Andrusko scoring a second-place finish ahead of TPC Racing teammates Tom Kerr and Moritz Kranz in the opener, and the two cars swapping positions in the second race of that event.

Sebring’s unique schedule, where Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America runs in conjunction with IMSA’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, began today with a pair of practice sessions. Qualifying begins at 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, followed by the 5:55 p.m. green flag later that evening and Friday’s 6:05 p.m. start.

It’ll be even more exciting when Christopher joins us later this year in his Fly Alliance Lamborghini. We’re really looking forward to being out there for our fourth season in the paddock.”

Nikko Reger, Driver, No. 21 Lamborghini Huracan: “2024 is going to be an incredible season! we have some of the best tracks in the world on the schedule, so I can’t wait to get rolling off in Sebring. We had some tough moments last year but ended the season on a high with our first win in Pro-Am. I’m hoping to capitalize on that, keep digging hard, and fight for the championship this year.”

Wesley Slimp and Tyler Hoffman will co-drive the No. 9 HNTB Companies Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 in the Am class, with Scott Schmidt driving the No. 38 DSC Sport/Erin Levitas Foundation Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 in LB Cup and Billy Johnson returning to the No. 71 DSC Sport/Erin Levitas Foundation Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 in the ultra-competitive pro class.

The pair of 50-minute races run on Friday, June 24, at 2:25 p.m. ET and Saturday, June 25 at 12:10 p.m. Both can be seen live on IMSA.com.

TPC Racing is carrying momentum from the last race at NOLA Motorsports Park, where the team scored a double podium finish in the same race. Schmidt scored his first top-three finish in the LB Cup class in his first attempt at a solo effort, while Slimp and Hoffman led laps in the Am class before finishing in second place – in wet and rainy conditions.Though a penalty relegated Johnson to a fifth-place finish in the Pro class, he also led laps during the race in a strong weekend for TPC Racing.

Slimp and Hoffman enter the Watkins Glen doubleheader fourth in the Am-class points. Despite early-season gremlins, Johnson is still in the Pro class hunt, sitting sixth, while Schmidt earned his points in the Am class during the season opener before moving to a solo effort in LB Cup.

The Watkins Glen event began on Thursday, June 23, with a pair of practice sessions. The championship will qualify at 9:30 a.m. ET on Friday morning before the 2:25 p.m. race, and get a breather before Saturday’s 12:10 p.m. ET race.

Harris Levitas, TPC Racing Director of Race Operations: “Our TPC Racing team has been hard at work going through all three cars after the New Orleans races. We finally had a chance to test between races this year and had a really successful test at Watkins Glen a few weeks ago. We feel that we are headed in the right direction and should be able to fight at the front of the field in Pro, Am and LB Cup. It was nice to have all of the drivers out at the test getting more seat time in the cars as well and I think everyone is much more comfortable going into the Watkins Glen race. Watkins Glen marks the halfway point of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo season so now we are looking to put good points on the board and go for more podium finishes.”

Tyler Hoffman, Driver, No. 9 HNTB Companies Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2: “Watkins Glen is a legendary track for sure! I’m looking forward to getting started on Thursday morning. It was great to get some testing in and have the opportunity to learn the car a bit more. We have made some big progress and started to uncover the potential of the car. The goal is to still win the championship, despite getting bumped up and forfeiting half of our race win points at Laguna. Approaching the midway point of the season, we are in a good place to do so and need to close the gap a little bit to the points leader and make that happen in Portimao!”

Billy Johnson, Driver, No. 71 DSC Sport/Erin Levitas Foundation Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2: “It’s been great to finally have the car back in the shop and go through it. The success in any racing goes back to the hard work in the shop and squaring away everything. We’re really thankful to Lamborghini for getting a car available for me to race in this championship this year, but with everything going on in the world we got it really late, we got the body kit super late, and it just hasn’t been possible to go through it. Now that we are, we’re starting to pay those dividends with better results on track. I’m really looking forward to seeing that translate this weekend and bring some hardware back to the team.”

The 2006 GT-class winners at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, TPC Racing’s most recent efforts have been in sprint-race competitions. The Sebring 24H was an opportunity to work with European Porsche-racing stalwart MRS GT-Racing and add TPC Racing drivers Torres and Lorndale to the endurance racing driver roster.

Though contact in Turn One ended the team’s run in a 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup just shy of the twelve-hour mark of the race, TPC Racing and both drivers were able to take away some positives from the event.

The No. 989 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup had led for nearly four hours prior to the contact that ended the night. Because the race began at 5 p.m. local time, most of that 11-hour run came at night around an already challenging Sebring International Raceway.

“What an incredible experience for all of us here at TPC Racing,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations said. “TPC Racing hasn’t been endurance racing since our last year in what was then Grand-Am. We were in a Porsche then, so it was nice to make our return with the Porsche family and run well. We can’t thank MRS GT-Racing enough for their support and allowing us to be a part of their effort this weekend at Sebring.”

The event was the endurance racing debuts for Torres and Lorndale, who competed this season in the single-make Porsche Sprint Challenge North America championship.

“The endurance racing format was a brand-new challenge for Pedro and Rob, and they handled it better than could be expected,” Levitas said. “This was the first time they had driven at night with this type of competition, this was the first time they’d had to do driver changes, and really the first time either of them had to compromise a setup for a team situation. To help get this car to the lead and running strong before the incident is a credit to how much they’ve learned this season.”

The Hankook 24H race was the season-ender for both Torres and Lorndale after their rookie seasons of professional racing. Lorndale finished third in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Gold Cup standings, while Torres earned five podiums in the same class and, with Lorndale, boosted TPC Racing to a Team Championship.

Torres earned a pair of runner-up finishes in the Gold Class during the weekend’s doubleheader. On Sunday, teammate Rob Lorndale earned a third-place finish in the Gold Class and Jordan Wallace finished second in the Sivler Class.

Starting second on both days, Torres held on in his No. 16 Stoneleaf/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup during the 40-minute races. Not only did Torres earn a class on podium during Saturday’s race, but by the finish of that one had raced himself into the top-five overall, including the quicker Platinum class.

“I’m very happy for TPC and the team,” Torres said. “We got three podiums today. I’ve got to thank TPC Racing and our coach, Spencer Pumpelly. It was a great weekend. On the track, I’m a lot more confident and consistent from the beginning of the year. I haven’t had the luck, and I’ve made a couple of mistakes, but for me this is great. This is very solid. The team does a great job bringing the platform, it’s just a matter of trying to close that gap and driving it fast and consistent.”

Lorndale’s Saturday podium in the No. 6 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup came with a huge challenge from behind. Starting fourth, Lorndale had moved into the podium position prior to a late-race full course caution. On the restart, Lorndale kept the competition at bay and sprinted the final handful of laps to his third podium finish in the past four rounds.

“I’m super excited,” Lorndale said. “It was a great race. This is such a fun track to come to. It’s fast, it’s challenging and it definitely gets your attention. Thank you to Porsche Sprint, this is such a terrific series and I can’t say how glad I am to be a part of it.”

Wallace took advantage of contact in the Silver class to drive the No. 35 Dasbold/TPC Racing Porsche Cayman Clubsport to grab a firm hold on the second-place finish. Wallace also improved six positions during Sunday’s race to earn the Yokohama Apex’n award for most positions improved.

“We’re working really hard toward the end of the season, we’re preparing for the future and I think that’s starting to show,” Wallace said. “Part of the hard work we’ve done recently is very driver focused on me. The guys have given me a great car all season and now we’re working on getting me to that elite level and we’re starting to show pace. Keeping it clean is the name of the game in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Silver class, so that’s one of my big goals is just driving smart and letting it play out.”

The Porsche Sprint Challenge field has just one race weekend left on the schedule, the Series Finale “Octoberfest” on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Both Lorndale and Wallace had successful weekends on the road course during the Porsche Together Festival in September and hope to carry that momentum into the doubleheader. Lorndale earned a pair of podium finishes and Wallace swept the class in the non-points exhibition weekend.

“It was a great weekend for the TPC Racing team,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations said. “All three drivers did an amazing job. Pedro had great pace since we unloaded off the trailer. Rob was really up there in practice and in qualifying, he just didn’t get the start he wanted yesterday. We worked with him on getting a little more aggressive on the starts and restarts and it paid off. He did a great job. I’m so proud of him. Jordan Wallace did a tremendous job as well. The weekend didn’t start out the way he wanted to but he stayed in a good position and when that caution came out, Jordan capitalized on that and to finish P2 was phenomenal for them. The TPC Racing crew did a great job, they had early mornings and late nights and great cars and we have one more round in this championship heading back to Indy.”

Rob Lorndale, Pedro Torres and Jordan Wallace climb back behind the wheel for TPC Racing for a points-paying doubleheader in upstate New York, with races at 3:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 18 and at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 19. Both 40-minute races can be seen via subscription at FloRacing.com.

Lorndale and Torres are both entered in the Gold Class for this weekend’s doubleheader. Lorndale begins the weekend with confidence, coming off of his best weekend of the season on the road course at Indianapolis. Lorndale drove his No. 6 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup to a pair of podium finishes in the races during the Porsche Together Festival, including a high of second place on Sunday. Lorndale is currently fourth in the season-long point standings.

“The Indy weekend went really well,” Lorndale said. “I hope to carry the momentum from Indy into this race weekend. At the beginning of the season, my main goal for the season was to improve as a driver. My pace and speed seemed to improve at Road America and then again at Indy. After putting in hard work, it always feels good when the work pays off. We did a two-day test at Watkins Glen in August. It rained the entire time, so I know the wet line pretty well. It looks like it will be dry for most of the race weekend, so I need to figure out the dry line!”

Torres enters round 11 with two podiums on the season and sixth in points, despite missing one full weekend for personal reasons. Torres will drive the No. 16 Stoneleaf/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the Gold Class alongside Lorndale.

Like Lorndale, Wallace enters the weekend in the No. 35 Dasbold/TPC Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport on a high. Wallace swept the Indianapolis weekend in the Silver Class, taking the first two wins of his career across the bricks on the IMS road course. Wallace missed the opening rounds of the championship, but is hoping to add to his season-long point total with podium finishes this weekend.

“All of our drivers and our TPC Racing crew did a fantastic job last weekend at Indianapolis, and did an even better job prepping the cars and getting back on the road in such a short time frame for this weekend’s races,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations, said. “We love Watkins Glen, and we’re coming in here with a lot of momentum. The challenge will be to keep that going, but we want to give all three cars the best chance to get a strong finish in a points race.”

The Porsche Sprint Challenge weekend at Watkins Glen International begins with a pair of 45-minute practice sessions on Friday, September 17. Friday features a 10:40 a.m. EDT qualifying, followed by the weekend’s opening race at 3:30 p.m. EDT. Sunday’s 8:00 a.m. EDT race caps the weekend, with races live on FloRacing.com.

Scott Schmidt and Trevor Andrusko will co-drive in the Am class of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in 50-minute races, which take place at 12:40 p.m. CDT on Saturday, August 7 and at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 8. Vernon McClure returns to his Porsche Carrera Cup machine for 45-minute sprints at 11:35 a.m. CDT on Saturday and 9:45 a.m. CDT on Sunday. All four races can be seen live at IMSA.com/tv.

Schmidt and Andrusko’s appearance at Road America comes in spectacular fashion. An in-race crash at VIR left the team’s original Huracan unable to be repaired, which led to the duo driving at Watkins Glen in a spare car borrowed from Wayne Taylor Racing.

On July 16, a truck pulled into the team’s shop in Jessup, Maryland, with a bare chassis and several boxes of pieces and parts. The crew went to work, assembling and attaching each part to the bare frame and assembling a brand-new car in less than three weeks.

With the assembly, Schmidt and Andrusko head to Road America sitting seventh in the Am class championship.

“It’s been a challenging few weeks at the TPC Racing shop but the guys have really answered the call,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations, said. “The car is together and sound, and though we didn’t get much of a chance to shake it down before it went on the truck we’ll do what we need to do at Road America. This will be another great learning opportunity for Scott and Trevor, coming to the track for the first time.”

McClure heads into the Porsche Carrera Cup North America weekend just six days from a podium finish in Porsche Sprint Challenge for the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. That event helped McClure get back up to speed, earn a result, and serve as prep for this weekend’s doubleheader.

“Vernon had a great run last weekend, and has continued to learn this new 992-generation Porsche each time he’s been in the car,” Levitas said. “If he can keep moving forward like that, Road America is a place that he can finish well. TPC Racing has a long history of podiums at Road America in Porsche championships, and we’re going to do our best to keep that going this weekend.”

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo event began with a Thursday afternoon practice session, but heats up in earnest on Friday when Carrera Cup makes two practice sessions and a qualifying, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo adds an additional practice session and its qualifying as well. Both single-make championships race on Saturday (11:35 a.m. CDT for Porsche Carrera Cup and 12:40 p.m. CDT for Lamborghini Super Trofeo) and on Sunday (9:45 a.m. CDT and 10:50 p.m. CDT for Porsche Carrera Cup and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, respectively) live on IMSA.com/tv.

The Road America doubleheader comprises rounds 10 and 11 of the 14-race Championship in each class. The 40-minute races, at 2:15 p.m. CDT on Saturday, July 31 and at 10 a.m. CDT on Sunday, August 1, can be seen live through the subscription service at FloRacing.com.

The team enters the weekend on a variety of strategies, with Lordale, Torres and Wallace all steadily improving throughout their first seasons amidst increased competition. McClure, meanwhile, is both racing for wins and in a pseudo-test session for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America race at Road America one week later.

Despite the learning curve, Lorndale currently sits fourth in the championship hunt for the Gold Cup class. Coming off of a successful test at Road America in the past couple of weeks, Lorndale’s confidence in the No. 6 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has skyrocketed.

“I like Road America a lot,” Lorndale said. “It is fast with a couple technical sections and a lot of fun! I had a tough outing at VIR in the last rounds, due to mechanical issues. At the Road America test last week, I was back in a solid car and felt very comfortable. I drove with a new level of commitment, especially in the brake zones. The plan is to keep this approach rolling into the race weekend.”

Torres joins Lorndale as both a teammate and competition in the Gold Cup class, and has two podiums already this season in the No. 16 Stoneleaf/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – both at Barber Motorsports Park in rounds three and four.

Wallace returns to the track in the No. 35 Dasbold/TPC Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport in Silver Cup competition. Wallace ran in the top-five in the last round, and is searching for more in his first visit to Road America.

“I’ve never been to Road America, and I’ve only seen it a few times on the simulator so it’s going to be an interesting and fun time for me getting to learn the track and getting to know how everything works out there,” Wallace said. “I’m really excited though. I feel like I’m getting a lot more comfortable in the car and we’re starting to feel like we know what we want out of the setup to get to the pace of the front runners and hopefully be very competitive this coming weekend. I’ve been training hard and working really hard and I’m excited to get out there and get more seat time in the car. We’ve only had two weekends in the car so far and I believe with seat time, especially, we’re going to be very competitive and very consistent. I’m looking forward to working with the TPC guys and putting that Dasbold car up front!”

McClure, a series regular in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship for the newest generation of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, returns to the Sprint Challenge in the No. 101 Main Street Homes/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. McClure ran the VIR rounds and challenged for the podium before fading, but this weekend’s doubleheader comes just one week in advance of the Carrera Cup effort at the same track.

“It’s been a busy few weeks for our TPC Racing crew guys, and once again they’ve come through and have everything ready to go,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations, said. “Our goals with each driver are to continue to improve, and if we each do our parts and make that happen I think we’ll see some strong results this weekend at Road America.”

The event weekend begins on Friday, July 30 with nearly two hours of practice to learn the 4-mile Road America layout. A pair of 20-minute qualifying sessions on Saturday morning set the grids for the two 40-minute sprint races, the first of which takes the green flag on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. CDT. Sunday’s race begins at 10 a.m. CDT, with both streamed live through the subscription service at FloRacing.com.

Both championships will run a race on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26. Porsche Carrera Cup’s 45-minute races are at 1 p.m. EDT on Friday and 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, while the 50-minute Lamborghini Super Trofeo contests are at 2:10 p.m. EDT and 10:40 EDT on Friday and Saturday, respectively. All four races can be seen via TrackPass on the NBC Sports app or at IMSA.tv.

Vernon McClure sits eighth in the Porsche Carrera Cup Pro-Am Driver’s Championship despite missing rounds three and four that were rescheduled for Circuit of the Americas after moving from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park due to pandemic-related restrictions. McClure scored a fourth-place finish in class the last time out in the No. 10 Main Street Homes Porsche 911 GT3 Cup during the season-opening weekend at Sebring.

McClure has not been idle since the event, challenging for a podium finish in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America at VIR in the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. Though this is the first IMSA visit to Watkins Glen since 2019, McClure ran a pair of solid races then in the 991.2-generation car to finish both races in seventh place against stiff competition.

“Vernon felt great coming out of VIR just a couple of weekends ago, and did well at Sebring in the 992 Porsche his first time out, and we’re going to carry that momentum over to this week at Watkins Glen,” Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations, said. “All of us at TPC Racing are excited to get Vernon back in the Carrera Cup race and to be able to do that with fans in the paddock for the first time in since the 2019 season.”

Schmidt and Andrusko will co-drive the No. 38 Lamborghini Sterling/Erin Levitas Foundation Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo in the Am class once again with assistance from Wayne Taylor Racing at Watkins Glen. That collaboration comes following contact at Virginia International Raceway for the original TPC Racing No. 38 car just two weeks ago.

“We have to thank Wayne Taylor Racing for helping us out in a big way this week at Watkins Glen,” Levitas said. “Our Lamborghini is stripped down to a bare chassis right now to be repaired, so Scott and Trevor are going to drive a back-up car that WTR owns. It’s a true collaboration using both Wayne Taylor Racing and TPC Racing crew, and we’re truly grateful they were able to help us keep Scott and Trevor on track in a way that works out for everyone involved.”

Schmidt and Andrusko currently sit seventh in the Am Class Driver’s Championship after four of 12 rounds, though the duo hold two class poles so far this season.

The Watkins Glen event, run in conjunction with the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen IMSA WeatherTech Championship race, actually begins with practice for both championships on Thursday, June 24. Each will get a pair of 30-minute sessions prior to Friday’s qualifying, at 9:15 a.m. EDT for Porsche Carrera Cup and at 10 a.m. EDT for Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Those qualifying sessions will set the grid for Friday and Saturday’s races. All races can be seen on TrackPass on the NBC Sports app or on IMSA.tv.

Rich Schoeneborn, making his championship debut in the No. 76 Concrete Services Inc Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, had the best finish of the weekend of TPC Racing’s six-car entry when he grabbed a third-place Gold Cup finish in Saturday’s 40-minute Sprint Race. Shoeneborn followed that up by punching through some opening corner chaos down the inside of turn two and running the race distance for a fourth-place class finish.

Vernon McClure also dodged Sunday’s early-race chaos to make multiple positions. Starting 13th in the No. 101 Main Street Homes/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, McClure found a gap in the traffic and climbed all the way to fifth on the opening lap. He made his way into fourth and was challenging for the podium when a small mistake with three laps to go caused a spin, ultimately leading to a seventh-place position. It was a strong run for McClure, who hadn’t been been behind the wheel since the Porsche Carrera Cup North America debut at Sebring in March and will return to that championship in less than three weeks at Watkins Glen International. His run also earned him the race’s Apex’n Award for passing the most cars on track during the race.

Michael Levitas and Rob Lorndale were not as fortunate in the opening corners. Levitas, who qualified the No. 36 Erin Levitas Foundation/TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup fifth overall for Sunday’s race, dodged the first spinning car but spun himself coming back onto the track and was forced to sit sideways while the entire field went by. While cars split left and right around Levitas, Lorndale’s No. 6 TPC Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup came to a stop just behind him and also rejoined the race at the tail end of the field.

Levitas, who also led the opening lap in Saturday’s race, rebounded and drove through the field to finish in sixth place overall and in the Platinum Cup class. Lorndale finished fifth in Gold Cup class for the second-consecutive day and held fourth place in the season-long point standings.

Jordan Wallace earned a fifth-place finish on Saturday, and was ninth on Sunday, in the Silver Cup driving the No. 35 TPC Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

TPC Racing’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo entry of Scott Schmidt and Trevor Andrusko rode a roller coaster through the weekend as well. Andrusko started eighth overall and first in the Am class in the No. 38 Lamborghini Sterling/Erin Levitas Foundation Lamborghini Huracan for Sunday morning’s 50-minute race. Andrusko led the class until the mandatory pit stop with 15-minutes remaining, passing the car to Schmidt. Unfortunately, late contact and damage left the car in sixth place and unable to return for Sunday’s afternoon race.

TPC Racing returns to action at Watkins Glen International, June 25-27, with Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Porsche Carrera Cup North America entries. The next Porsche Sprint Challenge North America race is July 30 to August 1 at Road America.

Noteworthy:
– TPC Racing also fielded an entry for Pedro Torres in the Gold Cup class. Torres qualified second in the Gold Cup class for Saturday’s race, but an incident in qualifying two left his car severely damaged and unable to compete in the weekend’s doubleheader.

– Engine troubles on the test day for Lorndale left his car out of commission for the event weekend. Fellow Porsche Sprint Challenge competitors ACI Motorsports loaned TPC Racing a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Lorndale to use for the VIR doubleheader.

Harris Levitas, Director of Race Operations: “There were a ton of positives to the weekend. It seems like everything that could have gone wrong did, but we had just as many good things happen. We had awesome TPC Racing prepared cars. The guys worked so hard from COTA to this preparing the cars and we were fast right off the truck. Having Rich Schoeneborn join us for the first time after doing track days and club racing and land on the podium was fantastic to see. Rob had engine troubles, but luckily it happened on the test days and we were able to enter a leased car from ACI. We have to thank the Talkie family and Kurt Swearingin and everyone there at ACI for helping us make that happen. The 36 car had a critical start in race one and took the lead. On Sunday, Vernon got the hard charger and had a shot at third place. Jordan did an excellent job coming from the back in race one after we had a transponder issue, but got held up by a slow Gold Cup car in race two and that hurt him. But he did a great job for his second time out and will be even better in the next race. We had an electrical gremlin at COTA in the Lamborghini and the team went through everything and had it in perfect working order this weekend. Trevor did a fantastic job with his stint, and Scott was finding more time in his stint and was catching back up. They’ve come a long way in a very short time of racing. It’s such a strong car. Unfortunately Scott was involved in a pretty heavy hit, but it goes to show the way these Lamborghinis are built. What would have been total structural damage in another car was mostly superficial. We’ll put a new engine in at the shop and be back stronger than ever at Watkins Glen.”

Vernon McClure, Driver, No. 101 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: “It’s great to be here. I love this track, it’s my favorite track and I’m pretty close to home here. The car was good today and I learned a lot yesterday in the race. I was right up there in fourth and I had my chance, I just blew it in turn four. It was awesome anyway. It was fun to race with everybody and be right in there. I got to finish right behind Levitas. The start was awesome for me because I went from 13th to fifth. I saw all these cars going both ways and it parted for me and I took off. I had a few laps and passed a few cars. It was a lot of fun.”

Rich Schoeneborn, Driver, No. 76 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: “It couldn’t have gone much better. I’m ecstatic about the whole weekend. Things lined up and I raced the race I planned on, staying clean and consistent lap after lap. Some luck came my way as well. Today was super hot and the track got greasy. I saw a lot of cars sliding around and I made some mistakes and said ok, dial it down just a hair and bring this thing home in one piece. The car was great, the series is great and what a weekend to have my son here with me from Annapolis, Maryland. He’s driven the car at driver’s experience days but he’s never seen me race and he was stunned to see me on the podium! I was grinning the whole way around the track.”

Rob Lorndale, Driver, No. 6 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: “It’s been a difficult week. We came to test for two days before the race weekend and I had a mechanical from the moment I got in the car. The guys worked like crazy to try and fix it but it wasn’t something that could be fixed at the track. I ended up renting a competitor’s spare car for the weekend, had no practice time in it, and jumped in. I felt reasonably comfortable in the car but I was cognizant of the fact that it was not my car and I needed to return it in one piece. I just really tried to play it conservatively and pick up some points. I maintained fourth place in the season-long standings which was my goal. I really enjoy VIR. I’m from the Washington, DC area and I have a fair number of laps here. It’s really terrific, it just wasn’t the weekend I hoped for.”
